    *Current devices not compatible:
    Galaxy Nexus 7 Tablet
    Samsung Galaxy Tablet

1.3 Is it similar to other TCG's?

A> It plays most similarly to Rage of Bahamut with two major differences. Most card evo's known so far are only two cards fused together except the invite card. This creates an easier to follow evolution instead of all the variations in ROB. Also each card has a Mastery skill level based on rarity that seems to level up based on energy spent as you quest.

    2. Gameplay Basics

2.1 Mastery (and how do you obtain it)

Mastery is a new element not found in any other TCG. Each level of Rarity in cards has a higher number of mastery points required to master a card. Once a card is mastered, the ATK and DEF stat will rise and these stats also carry over when you fuse cards together. Mastery is obtained by questing (1 card) and battling with your cards (up to 5). We do know that mastery obtained while questing is determined by the energy spent on the quest. In Area 2 a card can gain 1 mastery and in area 3 a card can gain 2 mastery. Also it is assumed at this time each time you battle with a card its mastery points will rise by 1.

    2.2 Boosting

Boosting a card requires feeding it other cards and having enough silver to do so. Usually ones you don't want because after you do this they are gone. You can feed 10 cards at a time to boost another card. Each cards power requirement has an affect on how percentage points it gains through boosting. Example feeding a base level (non-boosted) card a single card with power of 5 increases that cards level by 110%. If you feed a base level card a single card with power of 6 it will boost 120%. As the level increases the cards add less and less and cost more and more silver. It is always the best idea to boost two cards to their maximum and increase mastery to max level before fusing them otherwise you may lose several hundred or even thousands of attack points on that card.

ISO-8 Card is a special boosting card that guarantees 3 levels of boost on any card in the game.

    2.3 Fusing

Fusing cards make them more powerful. You must have two of the same exact card in order to fuse them together. In MWoH most cards can be fused once before the final form is reached. After final form is reached the cards rarity goes up one level (see 2.2b for reference). If you pay attention to the stars along the side of the card it indicates whether or not a fuse is available(most cards). If there is a grayed out star underneath the others you can still fuse this card to make it stronger. Almost all cards after fusing will have a + at the end of their name. Some cards like the invite card have multiple +'s after final form is reached and can use up to 8 cards to reach final form.

    2.3a Fusion Costs
    1x Common + 1x Common = Uncommon
Cost of Fusion = 1,575 Silver

    1x Uncommon + 1x Uncommon = Rare
Cost of Fusion = 3,075 Silver

    1x Rare + 1x Rare = S Rare
Cost of Fusion = 8,075 Silver

    1x SRare + 1x SRare = SS Rare
Cost of Fusion = 21,250 Silver

    1x SSRare + 1x SSRare = U Rare
Cost of Fusion = 40,075 Silver

    2.3b Card Rarities
    ☆ Common
    ☆☆ Uncommon
    ☆☆☆ Rare
    ☆☆☆☆ Super Rare
    ☆☆☆☆☆ Super Special Rare
    ☆☆☆☆☆☆ Ultra Rare
    ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Legendary

    2.3 Card Alignments

Unlike other TCG's you do not pick an alignment in the tutorial and can switch alignments for offense and defense as needed. Card alignments are seperated into three groups: Bruisers, Tactics and Speed. Ultimately the only purpose card alignments serve has to do with card skills/abilities. Some cards may incraese or decrease certain alignments in battle. Example: [Repulsor Beam] Iron Man Effect: Remarkably intensify attacks and defense on your Tactics Cards.

Events may hold special atk or def bonuses based on Card Alignment used in your deck.

    2.4 Items

Currently there are 6 types of items:

☆Silver☆ - This is the games money or currency although not as often used in card trading/selling as its typically in short supply from boosting and fusing.
☆Energy Pack☆ - Refills your energy from any deficit to full. This item is tradeable and can be used as currency for card trading/selling.
☆Power Pack☆ - Refills your ATK power from any deficit to full. This item is tradeable and can be used as currency for card trading/selling.
☆Sheild Barrier☆ - This item protects your resources from attacks against other players. Put a shield barrier on a treasure and if someone attacks you it will consume the barrier and the attacking player will lose the battle regardless.
☆Personal Energy Pack☆ - Refills your energy from any deficit to full. This item is non-tradeable.
☆Personal Power Pack☆ - Refills your ATK power from any deficit to full. This item is non-tradeable.
☆Resources☆ - These are items obtained through questing and battle as part of a set. Once you've completed a set you get a bonus reward card or item.

    3. Battle System

    3.1 Deck Building

Decks can consist of up to 5 cards for both offense and defense. Your ATK power stat is the only limiting factor on which 5 cards you can put into your ATK deck. Each card has a PWR Required stat which currently caps at 32 PWR. So the maximum needed power for 1 attack with max power cards is 160 ATK. Defense works similarly except when defending your DEF does not drop by the amount of the PWR required. Instead it drops by a couple (actual number needed) each time you defend. If your DEF power stat drops below what is needed to run your full defense deck the game will auto-sub in lower cost cards for that defensive stand until it replenishes.

    3.1a Card Skills
When building a deck it is important to match up card abilities and card alignments to go with those abilities. Here is a break down of ability types and strengths. Some cards have both a defense and offense skill.

    Offense abilities:
    Intensify attacks on your cards
Intensify attacks on your [Specific Alignment] cards
    Degrade defense on opponent's cards
Degrade defense on opponent's [Specific Alignment] cards

    Defense abilities:
    Intensify defense on your cards
Intensify defense on your [Specific Alignment] cards
    Degrade attacks on opponent's cards
Degrade attacks on opponent's [Specific Alignment] cards

    3.1b Card Skill Power

    Significantly - Very High Effect
    Remarkably - High Effect
    Notably - Medium Effect
    Partially - Low Effect

If the model follows similar to Rage of Bahamut. Card skills that are remarkable and effect a specific alignment are more powerful than remarkable that effects all alignments. Also if it has both offense and defense it has a lower effect than an offense or defense only skill. No math on any of this mentioned has been provided, proven or dis-proven.

    3.1c Card Skill Usage

Not much is known at this time except a guess on what this actually does. It is believed that this has an effect on whether or not a skill fires in battle. For now the percentages are just guesses.

    Relatively High - 75%
    Average - %50
    Relatively Low - 25%

    3.2 Resources

Resources are items attained through questing. It appears all resources will have 6 colors for each item. If you collect all six in the set you gain a resource completion bonus. Each resource type appears to have 3 sets of 6 for max completion rewards. These resources can also be obtained through the battle system and likewise can be stolen through the battle system. You can only battle for resources currently unlocked by your questing level. Use of the shield barrier item mentioned in the above section can protect your resources from being stolen.

    Resource Sets in order (known)
    1. Storm's Cape - Rewards: 1st set - (Rare) [Queen of Lightning] Storm 2nd set - ISO-8 3rd set - (Rare) [Queen of Lightning] Storm
    2. Suitcase - Rewards: 1st set - (Rare) [Legal Eagle] She-Hulk 2nd set - ISO-8 3rd set - (Rare) [Legal Eagle] She-Hulk
    3. Sword of Proficiency - Rewards: 1st set - (Rare) Taskmaster 2nd set - ISO-8 3rd set - (Rare) Taskmaster
    4. Assassin's Choker - Rewards: 1st set - (Rare) X-23 2nd set - ISO-8 3rd set - (Rare) X-23

    4. Events

    4.1 The Avengers
    First Run: 11/2/12 --- 11/14/12
    Event Type: Quest/Boss

In The Avengers event you quest to find the boss Loki. You gain cards through questing and points/shards for defeating Loki. Each day rotates Loki's weakness in the order of Speed/Bruiser/Tactics. The weakness is used for destroying body parts quicker on Loki. Bonus shards and points are given for destroying his body parts. Once you've attacked Loki the first time you can call for help from your alliance.

To battle Loki when you've discovered him it will cost half your atk deck power + 5. If you help someone else battle Loki it will be a third of your atk deck power + 5. You can receive additional shards for the most damage and the kill shot.

As your points in the event increase you can get stepped rewards which are mostly personal power packs and silver. With the Green and Purple shards you can get cards as high as S Rares.

During this event, all versions of Thor except uncommon have a boost to atk against the boss ranging from %300 to %2500. Some of the rewards for the event are useful as special ability cards for the next event such as Nicky Fury and Maria Hill.

The best card to use for this event regardless of the weakness of Loki is Thor
UR Thor (2 Evo SSR Thor)= 2500% Damage Bonus
SSR Thor = 1000% Damage Bonus
SSR Thor (2 Evo SR Thor) = 1800% Damage Bonus
SR Thor = 600% Damage Bonus
SR Thor (2 Evo Rare Thor) = 800% Damage Bonus
Rare Thor = 300% Damage Bonus

Re: [FAQ] Marvel: War of Heroes v0.39b

Good faq so far, would you like any help? I'm really enjoying this game and would love to help contribute :) I was specifically looking for the masteries from missions aspect you informed, it did seem broken and what you said makes sense with the newest card thing. Hope they fix that soon, it's sort of important.

One thing I think you could add is for the skills the amounts they can raise are Partially, Notably, and Remarkably where partially is a small increase, Notably is a medium increase, and Remarkably is a high increase. I wasn't exactly sure what they were at first until I had a few cards to compare :D

Also for battles it seems you can complete each resource set (similiar to treasures in RoB) 3 times before you actually "complete" the set. You gain three different rewards for each completion. I haven't got to the second resource set yet so I don't know if the pattern holds but for the first set it was a rare card [Queen of Lightning] Storm and then a Level-Up ISO-8 card used to enhance, and the third was a copy of the same Storm card. Unlike RoB you can do the set up to three times to get the three rewards and the cards you obtain from the set can be enhanced and evolved unlike in RoB.

The evolution system seems to work the same as Legend of the Cryptids. Most cards can only be evolved once except for some special cards such as ones you can get from events, promos, ect. that can be evolved several times as is the case with [Whimsical] Tempest Queen in LoC and [Secret Agent] Black Widow in M:WoH.

When you go to boost the game automatically selects "recommended" cards for boost. you'll need to change the option above sorting to show all cards.

Re: [FAQ] Marvel: War of Heroes v0.48b

Mastery appears to be related to experience point gain or energy used - I was in quest 15-4 and my black widow gained 11 mastery.

    A few caveats:
    1) the sample size was small - only one instance of mastery gain. This is not a large enough sample to say with certainty that there's a correlation
    2) it isn't possible yet to determine if the correlation (if it exists) is related to XP gain or energy spent since both are the same for all current quests. perhaps in the future they'll have an event in which XP gain and energy outlay are different and we'll be able to tell the difference.

Nice guide so far - thanks for putting it together.

With the new XP Rush thing they've got going, I decided to watch the animations and see what happens. I can now confirm that in 100% of cases (probably a few dozen mastery instances) it does appear to be related to how much energy you spend rather than the XP you get (or the quest number series).
